Why should I choose this belly casting kit? TOP
Our kits are beautifully packaged, they have the highest quality items, and contain up to 50% more materials than other kits available. Everything you need to make your belly cast is included, including easy to follow instructions. Will I have enough plaster in my kit to make my belly cast? TOP
Our kit includes 4 rolls of high quality plaster gauze at 2.7 meters each in length. This is enough to do a belly cast from your shoulders to your thighs with gauze left over for re-enforcement if needed. Will it hurt my baby? TOP The process of the casting does not harm your baby in any way. The baby can
still move and if cracking does occur from baby moving, re-enforcement after
removal will cover them. If concerned why not check with you obstetrician or
doctor at your next visit. How much and how long does delivery of my kit take? TOP Postage is calculated on the total weight of your order. Our orders are posted within 1-2 business day of receiving cleared payment. (Mon-Fri). We ship using Fastway Couriers and Australia Post. Depending on your location your order will usually arrive to you within the next 3-5 business days. When is the best time to make my belly cast? TOP Anytime during your pregnancy. Some women like to make a series of belly casts
throughout their pregnancy, to remember how much their shape changed in the nine
months. If you would like to make only one belly cast, the best time is
somewhere during the last 6 weeks of pregnancy. What is Gesso? TOP Gesso is a product applied (painted) onto the Belly cast after it has dried and
cured to stop it further absorbing moisture from the air. It aids to extend and
preserve the life of your belly mask. It is used to harden and protect the cast
from moisture and cracks. It also seals the cast so that it can be painted and
decorated. I have sensitive skin, are your products safe to use? TOP Some kits include containers of vegelatum as an alternative to Vaseline. In my
experience these jars are often only labeled with an after market sticker that
says vegelatum. I have no idea of the contents in those jars or what vegelatum
is made of. Do you? We decided although Vaseline was more expensive, it is a
trusted name that does not clog pores and is hypo allergenic. Our plaster rolls
are of the highest quality. Both products are suitable for sensitive skins. If
anything your skin will feel soft and smooth after your belly casting. How do I remove my Belly Cast? TOP Vaseline is applied to the belly prior to creating your Belly cast creating a
barrier to exist between the plaster gauze and the skin. This process aids easy
removal, as the cast hardens is begins to lift away. By placing you fingers at
the sides of the breast and mum to be giving a little wriggle the cast will come
away from the skin. How to make a belly cast including your hands? TOP Some mums like to include the hands of a loved one in their pregnancy belly
cast. It is very easy to do. Just put the hands right on the belly, apply the
Vaseline over the back of the hands as you are coating the rest of the mum's
casting area, and then simply cast right over the hands. Make sure the fingers
are spread far enough apart so that it is easily distinguishable that it is a
hand being cast into the pregnancy belly cast.
How do i get a really smooth belly cast? TOP A tip to make a really smooth cast is to dip your fingers in water after you
apply a couple of overlapping layers of the plaster casting strips and rub your
fingers over the layers to mix the plaster of paris together among the layers.
Work fairly quickly as the plaster strips will begin to dry within a few minutes
after you begin applying the plaster strips. After your pregnancy belly cast has
completely dried, you can sand it over with a sanding block or if you still want
an even smoother surface, apply 1-2 layers of Gesso (included in your kit) and
let dry.
A more advanced method of making a smoother cast is to apply a thin layer of
joint compound which can be found at your local hardware store. Apply it with
your fingers and as it starts to dry, smooth it out more with your fingers.
Allow it to dry according to the manufacturer's instructions and then lightly
sand it. You may need to apply more than 1 layer of joint compound, allowing
each layer to dry and lightly sanding in between each coat.. How to include your thighs in the casting? TOP To have your belly cast look right, you will need to do your casting while
standing. Start the casting from the top and work your way down. When you get to
the bottom of your belly, place a piece of cotton material or cling wrap over your pubic area
to keep the wet casting material from sticking to it. Slather the material with
Vaseline prior to placing it over your pubic area. You will need to hold the
cotton material or cling wrap in place while your helper places the first wet strip over the
pubic area. Thereafter, the wet casting strips will hold the cotton material or cling wrap in
place.
Alternatively, you can wear a pair of undies. Try to wear a more delicate pair
since the seams won't show as much. Then tuck the cotton material or cling wrap into the seams
to hold it in place. How do I remove excess Vaseline form inside my belly cast? TOP If you're a patient person the Vaseline will eventually dry out. If you want
quicker results, first take a dry paper towel and wipe out any excess. Then,
take another paper towel and dip it in rubbing alcohol and gently dab it on the
Vaseline to dissolve it. Just be careful not to apply so much rubbing alcohol
that it saturates your belly cast. Smoothing the edges of your pregnancy belly cast? TOP Don't worry about having the edges of your belly cast be even as you are making
the cast. After your belly cast has completely dried, you can take a pair of
sharp scissors and trim the edges to make them even if you like. Reinforcing thin areas of your pregnancy belly cast? TOP With the left over casting material, you can reinforce the cast where needed.
Simply wet additional casting strips and place them on the inside of your belly
cast where reinforcements are needed. What is best age to sculpt my baby’s hands and feet? TOP The best age is when they are newborns as babies grow so quickly we forget how
tiny their little hands and feet were. But it is never to late, remember they
are constantly growing, so the sooner you capture those tiny hands and feet, the
sooner you will have a beautiful keepsake to remember them. The hand & feet
sculpture kits include enough material to sculpt 4 child’s hands or feet up to
12 months of age. How do I keep my baby still during the sculpting? TOP The best time to sculpt your baby’s hands and feet are when they are relaxed, or
when they are sleepy. The baby’s hand or foot is in the mould for only 30
seconds so they usually don’t mind it as it has a warm feeling. My baby has sensitive skin are your kits safe? TOP Our kits have been developed with the safety of
baby’s and parents in mind. All of our products are 100% safe, and are non-toxic
and non- allergenic, and to Australian standards unlike other kits on the
market. Is there a physical address for Belly Casting Australia? TOP Currently NO. We are fully ecommerce based only. . |
