The infant carriers are made out of 95% Cotton and 5% Lycra. The little bit of stretch in the fabric makes it incredibly comfortable to wear.
It conforms nicely to the curves of your body and gently cradles your baby’s body. It combines a snug fit with the feeling of freedom.
The edges of the Snugglewrap baby carrier are not stitched. They are simply cut and left unfinished; making it lighter and less bulky to wear. The knit material naturally curls at the edges in a beautiful way. So I thought to myself, why mess with a good thing?
The Snugglewrap infant carrier is great for your body and for your baby’s body. Unlike some infant carriers that are worn over one shoulder, the Snugglewrap baby carrier evenly distributes weight over both shoulders and across your entire back. The shoulder straps go all the way across your shoulders and down your arms to spread the weight evenly and prevent uncomfortable pressure on your shoulders that comes from narrow straps.
An infant carrier that suits the baby’s needs
Newborn babies have very delicate hip joints and a growing spine. Baby slings and carriers that have a seat where babies legs hang out the sides often can splay babies hips in unnatural ways and put lots of pressure on the baby’s tailbone. Because all babies are different shapes and sizes, it’s hard to fit every baby to a standard sized holder.
The Snugglewrap baby carrier custom fits to your babies body by cradling the baby’s pelvis and holding the legs in a comfortable, flexed position. Studies have shown that this is optimal for their development.
As babies grow, they develop more muscle tone in their legs and upper bodies and can support more of their own weight. This increased muscle tone helps them hold up their head, use their arms and legs with more control and generally hold more of their body weight. Once they are holding their head up on their own (around 3-4 months), it’s safe to face them out in the Snugglewrap baby carrier and let their legs dangle. They love to look out at the world while still feeling safely close to you!
